THE IINR STORY

International Institute of Nursing & Research believes in contributing to every source of enlightenment in the field of nursing education. It is located at Kalyani, the medi-city of West Bengal, and affiliated to the West Bengal University of Health Sciences, Kolkata. The institution is recognised by Indian Nursing Council and dully permitted by the Govt. of West Bengal.

IINR offers three courses: General Nursing and Midwifery, BSc Nursing and Post Basic Nursing, under West Bengal University of Health Sciences.

ADMISSIONS

Dress Code:

IINR students wear a specially designed uniform as approved by the institute.

POLICIES

All enrolled students must observe the rules and regulations in the college campus that are laid down by the authorities.

Violation of rules will result in disciplinary measures.

Each student is responsible for the proper handling and safe custody of any apparatus or equipment that he/she may be using in different labs. Misuse or negligence will result in replacement of the particular item/s by the student.

Every student will have to attend all theory and practical classes to fulfil the attendance criteria laid down by INC and WBUHS to appear for final examination.

The students are not permitted to leave the college premises without permission.

All fees should be cleared before filling the examination form.

The college authority reserves the right to rusticate any student found indulging in acts prejudicial to the interest of the college or involved in gross indiscipline or immortal acts including ragging.

B.SC NURSING

 

BASIC INFORMATION

Length : 4 Years

Level : Graduate

Category : Nursing

Course Description

This four-year degree programme in Nursing is an extensively laced out programme within an academic framework specifically focussed to prepare graduates who can assume responsibilities in the healthcare sector as professional and competent nurses and midwives in providing promotive, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative services. Subjects like Foundational Nursing, Surgical and Community Nursing, Mental Health Nursing and Midwifery and Obstetrical Nursing form the foundation of this course.

Eligibility for Admission

  • Minimum educational qualification as per INC and Central Selection Committee guidelines.
  • A Candidate should have passed in the subjects PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and English individually, both in theory and practical project separately, and must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks taken together in the qualifying examination (10+2).
  • Selection of the candidate is based on the merit list of the Entrance Examination-JENPAU conducted by WBJEE, and the candidates are required to go through online counselling procedure of Central Selection Committee for admission in the institute.
  • The candidates should possess good health and moral character.

Selection Procedure

  • The candidates who have undergone the online counselling and have successfully fulfilled the criteria of the same can procure the Application Form along with a prospectus from the institute for the B. Sc. (Nursing) course against a payment of Rs. 500.
  • The selected candidates after counselling must produce and verify original documents.
  • After verification of documents, all candidates must go for a medical check-up to procure a Medical Fitness Certificate from the certified Medical centre. Charges for the test are to be borne by the candidate.
  • The candidates must pay the requisite fees as per the guidelines and join the course immediately. Failing which, the candidature will be treated as cancelled.
  • Admission granted is provisional until verification of (10+2) Mark sheet from the respective Board and Registration from West Bengal University of Health.

DIPLOMA IN GNM

BASIC INFORMATION

Length : 3 Years

Level : Diploma

Course Description

General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) is a three-year programme designed to prepare students to work efficiently as members of the healthcare community. This programme encompasses subjects like Nursing Fundamentals, First Aid, Bio-Science, Behavioural Science, Nutrition and Child Health Nursing among much more. With its Internship Programme in the third year, the programme also trains future health professionals to provide effective nursing care and assist the doctors in surgical procedures, and adeptly handle patients during emergencies.

Eligibility for Admission

  • A candidate should have passed (10+2) or any equivalent examination from any recognized education board and must obtain a minimum of 40% at the qualifying examination and in English individually.
  • Age should not be less than 17 years and not more than 27 years as on 1st Jan of the admission year.
  • Candidate should be of Indian Nationality and should be residing in West Bengal uninterruptedly for at least 5 years.
  • Self-attested photocopies of all relevant certificates are to be submitted along with the application.
  • Vocational courses are not allowed.

Selection Procedure

  • Payment of Rs. 500 has to be made against an Application Form along with a prospectus from the institute for the GNM course.
  • The eligible candidate has to submit a filled up APPLICATION FORM annexed with the prospectus along with the necessary documents. Please note: Xerox copy of Application Form shall not be accepted.
  • Duly filled up Application Form is to be submitted in the office of the Institute within the prescribed date.
  • Selection will be made on a merit basis as per the marks obtained in (10+2) and Viva-voce.
  • After verification of documents, all candidates must go for a medical check-up to procure a Medical Fitness Certificate from the certified Medical centre. Charges for the test are to be borne by the candidate.
  • The candidates must pay the requisite fees as per the guidelines and join the course immediately. Failing which, the candidature will be treated as cancelled.
  • All the above procedure will be under the guidance of the Selection Committee of the IINR.

POST BASIC NURSING

BASIC INFORMATION

Length : 2 Years

Level : Post Graduate

Category : Nursing

Course Description

One of the major objectives of this two year programme is to provide an opportunity to registered nurses to offer vocationally directed specialisation and continuing to expand educational opportunities in the face of changing healthcare needs of the society. Focusing on the promotion of personal and professional growth, the completion of this course will provide better opportunities for the students while enhancing their administrative competence to provide quality healthcare services.
