WHY CINHS?

Chandrakant Institute of Nursing and Health Sciences (CIHNS) was named and based on the ideals of Dr. Chandrakant Umakant Patil. Dr. Patil was an emerging Public Health Physician who dedicated his life while serving the flood victimized rural society in Sopaul district of Bihar and succumbed to the lightening while attending his patients at the tender age of 24. The CINHS started its journey on the birthday of Dr. Patil - September 11th - in the year 2020

The Chandrakant Institute of Nursing and Health Sciences believes that:

  1. The nursing courses should be planned around the nursing care need of the society as well as the educational needs and personal development of nursing students.
  2. The primary focus of the educational program is to prepare the student nurse for professional nursing practices in all fields.
  3. The courses offer an educational base needed for continuing nursing education.
  4. The faculty of the college accepts the responsibility of helping the students to adjust to new situations and provides them with the opportunity, which contributes towards development of the student as a person, responsible citizen and competent practitioner.

  1. To promote and strengthen the nursing skill for better competence in the nursing profession in general and patient care in particular.

HOW TO APPLY

General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) Course (3 Years)

Objectives of the Course

On completion of the GNM course, nurses are able to:

  • Assess the nursing need of clients from birth to death.
  • Plan and carry out appropriate action to meet nursing needs.
  • Apply problem solving techniques in nursing practice.
  • Apply knowledge from the humanities, biological and behavioral sciences in functioning as a nurse.
  • Demonstrate use of ethical values in their personal and professional life.
  • Recognize the need for continuing education for professional development.
  • Demonstrate basic skills in teaching patients and giving nursing care to them.
  • Demonstrate interest in continued learning for personal and professional advancement.

Eligibility for Admission

  • Female candidates only
  • Age 17-35 years
  • Passed 10+2 from any Recognized Board/Council
  • Rank in Common Entrance Test GNM 2021(WBJEE)
  • Candidate shall be Medically Fit

Course Duration

  • A three (3) Years Course.

Admission Procedures

Admission is purely based on the merit list prepared on the basis of marks secured in Common Entrance Test GNM-2021 conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB). Selection and Counseling will be made on Merit Rank Basis by Central Selection Committee (Nursing) for the academic session 2021-2022. For entrance test visit to www.wbjee.nic.in.

ANTI-RAGGING MEASURES

As per the guidelines of Indian Nursing Council Anti-Ragging measures has been taken in this Institution to ensure a Ragging Free Zone. All students have signed a declaration, with their parent’s counter signature, that they would not indulge in ragging. Printed posters are displayed all over the campus appealing and warning the students about the punishment that will be meted out to those who indulge in ragging. The mobile numbers of the Anti Ragging Committee Members have been displayed and communicated extensively so the victims of ragging could contact them at any time. In the re-orientation program for the non-fresher students, a strict warning is issued.
